Change auxcopy automatic schedule without commcell console

Hi, there is a chance to change the auxcopy automatic schedule from 30 min to 15 min in commandcenter or with a script? I’m in version 11.36 and with new installations commcel console GUI isn’t available. Additionalsetting Showschedulepolicy is not a valid way.Thanks

Hi, I notice that Automatic Synthetic Fulls for Qumulo (created automatically by a plan) by default run only every 90 days. What's the rationale behind this? Our Retention Time is only 90 days!Thank you.

How to remove Synthetic Backup from Command Center plan

Good morning!##########################Environment details:CommVault server: Win 2022 STDVersion: 11.36.35 ##########################I have a small problem creating the plan on the command center. The plan automatically adds a synthetic backup; I do not have an option to remove it. The Backup target is StoreOnce, which does deduplication and compression. synthetic will add more load on the Storage hence want to remove it. pls help.

Windows Server 2022 local firewall excludes

Hi All, maybe you can give me an hint. I have an new windows server 2022 mediaagent in a remote datacenter wich is needed for auxcopy. The connection between source and destination ma is over an vpn and there are no rules aktive.  When we have the windows domain firewall aktive we get a lot of chunk errors and we get errors during connecting the ddbs,  i run the the AddFWExclusions script in the base folder but i think there are a lot of processes and ports missing.  is there an instruction or another possibility to set all needed commvault processes and ports into the local windows firewall ?

DDB Disk Capacity Expansion

Hi All, looking to get some feedback on the following scenario.Currently have 4 media agents with 2.5TB local SSD dedicated for DDB. A while back we decided to move to the cloud and thus created a new storage pool (deduplication enable) so we would only move changed blocks from primary to the cloud. The new DDB location for the cloud pool is on the same disk as the existing DDB for on-prem data. At the time, the capacity was ok and so we moved forward.Trying to make things easier to understand, I am adding the following screenshot;  As seen above all 4 MAs share DDBs for box Primary and Cloud and I am running out of space. We are purchasing additional drives with a higher capacity to address the problem and here is where my questions come in and would appreciate some feedback. I would prefer to avoid running new Fulls as a result of this tasks.I wanted to see if the options below are the only ones available and which one carries less down time and risk;Adding new partition: this option

Request for Clarification Regarding Default Activation of GPO Backup in Active Directory Clients

We see that the Group Policy Object (GPO) backup feature is enabled by default on Active Directory clients. We would appreciate an explanation as to why this decision was made, particularly given that the feature appears to require an additional license for full functionality.The automatic activation of this feature has led to complications:Some environments are now reporting backup jobs as “Completed with errors” due to attempts to back up GPOs without meeting the necessary prerequisites. In cases where the customer does not wish to back up GPOs, there is no straightforward option to disable this functionality. Instead, we need to add an “Additional Setting” in the Properties. If the customer does wish to use GPO backup, they must ensure that the service account has the appropriate permissions, modify registry settings to support long paths, or create specific folders. Notifications failing DMARC in Gmail (dmarc=fail)

Gmail thinks Commvault is trying to spoof my email address and is consistently marking them as spam.I’ve repeatedly unmarked it and created filters to keep it out of the spam folder without success. I haven’t tried the nuclear option, using a filter to mark it as “Not Spam”, but in my experience, doing that causes a lot of other issues, and real spam bypasses the filters. Thoughts? Vm license Counted twice with second backup set

We have configure Hyper-v vm backup to Tape now there was one requets from client to take monthly backups to Disk for those VM.Since we can not create another sublclient for same VM backup, we created another backup setup then a deault subclien was used with Storage to disk policy for same VM.Now, my VM licenses are counted twice, why is it so and if there is any other way acheive my target?

Backup of TrueNAS 13 CIFS share always backs up all files

I’ve got a TrueNAS server with a bunch of CIFS shares.  I setup a Windows File System client to do the backups of the CIFS shares, using our CommCell master to do the backups.  Unfortunately, no matter what, it backups up all the same files for both Full and Incremental backups, which slows things down and screws up temp disk space usage.   So what’s the process to figure out why this is happening?  This is around 1.7Tb of data and 2+ million files, so it really slows things down. CommVault 11.36.5?  something, pretty new.  The TrueNAS is Enterprise 13.0-U6.2 release.  The Windows backup server is running Windows Server 2016 (I know, I know...)  The TrueNAS runs Samba internally to do CIFS shares.  Not sure where the disconnect is here.  Has anyone else got this working properly?

DDB Verification Concurrent Operations

Hi All,I currently have a few DDB Stores to run DDB Verification for the first time (Full) and they are quite large, so running multiple jobs would be quite helpful. So considering the statements below from the docs, I started 1 DDB Verf and specified 30 streams. Attempted to initiate a second one and it automatically goes into a queued state. My first job is only using 30, should I be able to run a second one in this scenario? What am I missing? “You can perform only up to 50 concurrent data verification jobs. Any additional jobs that you perform get queued.”“ By default, deduplicated data verification job uses 20 streams during Validate Data phase and 50 streams during Verify Data phase.”Thanks

Disk library storage configuration best practice for 256KB deduplication factor

Hello,Could you please suggest storage best practice configuration for Deduplication storage pool that will use 256KB deduplication factor.How should be configured disk library:1) Strip size to use for underlying RAID Volume? 64KB 128KB or 256KB? (unable to find any recommendations from Commvault)2) NTFS block size? In general there is recommendation to use 64KB. Is it still the same for 256KB deduplication factor storage pools?3) By default, the system uses 4 GB as the chunk size and 64 KB as the block size to read/write data from disk libraries. Should i change this if I use 256KB deduplication factor? Should I increase read/write block size?Thank you in advance!

Recommendation: Software compression with deduplication

We are currently switching to deduplicated storage as part of our migration to plans and therefore looked into recommended settings for everything to work smoothly and the most space efficient.I already noticed our Commcell had the horizontal scaling option disabled as we upgraded from older versions which resulted in the old default behaviour.Upon enabling I can now see two DDBs for the two data types we currently backup to this pool: Files and Databases.From previous experimenting we noticed improved deduplication savings when using no compression for file backups.For databases it seems the other way around as also suggested in the documentation.This got me wondering:Is compression with deduplication also recommended for File or VSA backups? If we disable compression on the DDB (e.g. Files), will the setting persist when the DDB is sealed? (because we use WORM/S3 OL)

Hello!Having just upgraded to 2024E, specifically 11.36.41, I notice the Active Directory agent now supports backups for GPO as documented here - Great. Changes in Commvault Platform Release 2024EHowever, the permissions required are not particularly helpful: Permissions to Back Up Group Policy Objects via PowerShell: The account must have the necessary permissions to back up GPOs using PowerShell cmdlets. By default, members of the Remote Management Users group possess these permissions. My question is, if you don’t want the account to be a member of “Remote Management Users” or admin groups, what granular permissions can be set on the account to still achieve the backup? full error:-----Currently whilst the backup is completing for AD as it always has, its now completing but with error “Failed to process group policy object”.Error Code: [28:548]Description: Failed to process group policy object. Alert: Threat Indicator

All,I have the Threat Indicator alert enabled on my Commserve.I have a VSA backup that runs nightly and every evening it picks the same folder and flags it in Monitoring → Threat indicators in the Command Centre and it emails this alert to all. The particular folder it mentions every night runs some DBA scripts that are scheduled. Is there anyway to remove this files ie E;\DBA_Scrits or this VM from the Threat Indicator alert ?There is nowhere to edit on the Alert in the CommServe, I found the workflow below and ran it but still got an alert the following morning.
